The total cost of Stock Charts is only $147 for 12 months. The cost includes the software (sent to you on a CD-ROM), all of the ongoing support (if required), along with complete data access.
Historical data is already loaded into Stock Charts, so that whenever you look at a chart, you are getting as much data as possible. End of day data is then made available each day at the close of the market.
You don't need to maintain or download this data yourself as with many other stock market charting software programs, as it is all done via a web server. So long as you are connected to the Internet, you can access this data on Stock Charts.
Once your 12 months has expired, you can renew for another 12 months for $147.
No, Stock Charts is not a "Black Box" trading system.
You may have seen advertisements for computer software programs promising to make you rich, or to help you trade on the Australian stock market.
Some such advertisements suggest that you can make lots of money very quickly with very little effort - you need to be very wary about such claims.
Some of these programs are being sold for hundreds and in some cases, thousands of dollars! Some of these programs may not be good value for money,
and do not suit everyone's needs.
ASIC - the Australian Securities and Investment Commission, warns about such software, and trading scams.
You can read their whole story here ...
ASIC's warning about over priced stock trading software
A general rule of thumb is that if a software program generates buy and sell signals which you have no control over, neither can you change the parameters of the setting to suit your own style of trading, then it is considered a "black box" trading system, and you should tread carefully before purchasing such.
Stock Charts does not generate buy or sell signals. If is simply a tool for visually charting stocks on the Australian stock market. You can use certain tools and indicators, as well as drawing trend lines, but the end decision about whether or not to trade the stock needs to come from you, and must suit your trading style.
As with any form of investment, you must fully understand the potential risks and rewards, and be willing to accept responsibility for your own trading decisions. There is yet to be a trading software program invented which picks winning stocks 100% of the time. There never has been, and there never will be. We simply cannot predict the future, and can only look at what has happened in the past, as some sort of indicator to tell us what may potentially happen in the future.
Stock Charts gives you as much of a historic view of the past trading activity of any stock as any other trading software program (including the ones costing several thousands of dollars). It also has an excellent range of technical analysis tools to help you to make informed trading decisions.
Q: Who created Stock Charts?
Stock Charts was first created in 2005 by
Trading Essentials as part of their home study course package.
Trading Essentials offer a full home study course for people wanting to learn about the Australian stock market, and how to get started as a trader. When the course was first written by Brent Price (A West Australian based private stock market trader), Brent saw that there was a major hole in the market place for good stock trading software.
Although there are some good free trading programs available, Brent found that they were often lacking in some of the major tools or indicators. Then, at the other end of the spectrum, there are some excellent stock trading software programs available, and have all of the tools and technical analysis indicators, but cost several hundred dollars, or in some cases thousands!
Brent saw the need for a good stock trading software program which was full of features, and was much better than what was currently on offer for free, but was also affordable, and not several hundreds of dollars.
Stock Charts was created to fill this gap!
Brent Price, being a successful trader himself knew exactly what a good stock charting software program needed, and which indicators to use, and which ones to leave out. As a trader of the Australian stock market for well over 10 years, as well as an educator and developer of stock market trading systems, Brent has created this excellent program which he now uses himself on a daily basis.
Stock Charts was previously only available to those who purchase the
Trading Essentials home study course, but is now available to you.
